Kontrox® passivation for III-V compound semiconductors — a controlled oxide layer that suppresses surface defects, improving chip performance, energy efficiency and yield. Founded 2017 to commercialise technology developed in the University of Turku materials research laboratory; two of the three main founders hold UTU physics doctorates, and the name Kontrox comes from "control oxidation".
